We also offer private tutoring sessions where students receive one-on-one instruction in subjects where they require assistance. Our tutors are experts in their fields and have the ability to really connect with their students. We offer tutoring for grades 6 – 12 as well as college-level students.
Based on an initial academic assessment, we will create an individualized education plan for your child, matching tutors based on the student’s academic needs and personality. Our qualified tutors will provide support for their current classroom instruction and assignments, helping to rebuild any missing areas with one-on-one instruction. Our goal is not only to raise grades but also to build confidence, organization, and study skills.
Akasha Academics was founded in 2012 with the dream of changing education for the better. By moving students from a traditional classroom to a comfortable home-based setting, we provide a more effective learning experience for your child. We offer personalized virtual school instruction with a curriculum that is designed for each student's needs and is strictly monitored.
Melissa Berman, the owner and operator of Akasha, brings both expertise and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their best.
Founder & Director Melissa Berman has the experience and the heart to help your child succeed. She is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience with Elementary through College students and has built Akasha over the past 12 years. Melissa was named Teacher of the Year at her Middle school in 2009, and in 2011 she was named Broward County Middle School Math Teacher of the Year. Melissa has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in the Science of Teaching Mathematics through the National Science Foundation (NSF) in partnership with Florida Atlantic University.
